Bangkok - Day 1

Arrived this afternoon. At the airport we managed to attract quite a lot of attention among the taxi drivers who wanted to drive us to Bangkok for 'very good price'. Eventually we found the meter taxis and made it to Lamphu House, our guest house near Khao San Road. Once out of the nicely airconditioned taxi we started to notice just how hot and humid it is (and it's only evening now!). In the pictures below we are exploring all the streetfood around Khao San Road, where you can buy fried crickets for example (first picture). Our favourite tonight was the tiny moving soupstall where we got a veggie soup with the best mushrooms ever, they looked like kidneys or liver, but luckily were not (second picture). While we had our soup we were observing the quite popular massage parlour in the second picture. And for main course we had some obligatory Pad Thai (picture 3) before going back to the hotel to meet our friend Seppy on arrival.
